Main Page

Time in Midgard is measured in 12 lunar months each of 28 days (I’ll keep the names the same for convenience) and generally measured from solstice to solstice. Midgard’s orbital period is wonderfully obliging in that its solar period is very nearly evenly divided by its lunar period. Every five years someone slips in an extra day called “Intercala” and everything is hunky doory.

The very beginning of game time just so happens to occur a couple of days after the Midgard New Year, which is to say, Samhain, the 1st of November. From that point on, things have happened roughly as follows:

  • November 1st: Samhain. Muzrul Murza releases messengers to the party
  • November 2nd: Deeds received and first exploration of the Manorhouse by Content Not Found: Elowen
  • November 3rd: Further exploration by Content Not Found: Elowen_ and _Content Not Found: Kafu
  • November 4th: Content Not Found: Elowen becomes an art dealer.
  • November 5th: Content Not Found: Elowen_, Content Not Found: Kafu_, and Content Not Found: Ekring leave Lutetia with a hungover Content Not Found: Talia
  • November 15th: The party reach Banik after ten pleasant days of pies.
  • November 16th: Party travels to Osell, “recruits” Content Not Found: Arena, and moves on to Bilal
  • November 17th: The party hunts for the Swampbeast, finding it shortly after nightfall. Fire ensues.
  • November 18th: returning to Osell in the early hours of the next morning, a small war is averted between troll and man. Due to suspicions around food, the stay is a short one.
  • November 20th: Nightfall brings the party to the Rocksfall Inn, a disagreement erupts concerning some gnolls.
  • November 21st: The party crosses the Nether proper, is attacked by additional gnolls, reaches the Dyer’s arms.
  • November 22nd: The party enters Norga proper
  • November 26th: after encounters with orcs and hunters Elhorim halls offers a warm welcome to the travelers
  • November 27th: a small reconnaissance mission is given to the party, who return to Elhorim much later that night
  • November 28th: just before dawn, the Skull tribe attack Elhorim, after some conflict resolution, the party head north to Goodland.
  • December 3rd: The party reach Goodland and make camp in a local inn. During the first night the town is attacked by orcs.
  • December 4th: a productive day is spent in Goodland
  • December 5th: just before dawn, Arghurosh’s force arrives, the morning is spent in diplomatic talks while Content Not Found: Elowen_ “rescues” _Content Not Found: Arena, knives are then introduced to the conversation and the party continues north.
  • December 10th: The party discovers Worgton, attacks, and leaves. Talia is neatly exchanged for Vian.
  • December 11th: The party encounters more orcs. Kills them
  • December 12th: The party encounters a cliff, it nearly kills them. They camp in Sala.
  • December 14th: The party encounters the Badmoon. No-one kills anyone.
  • December 15th: The party encounters poison
  • December 16th: Just after nightfall, the party attack the Skull tribe, death is back on the menu.
  • December 17th: The party camp outside of Eslen and discuss strategy.
  • December 18th: In Eslen Content Not Found: Kafu meets Messenger Granville and starts tracking Cairns, the Thieves meet a rival, Vian makes a friend.
  • December 19th: The first night of the Thing. Content Not Found: Arena has a chat with Skullface and shortly afterward delivers a speech.
  • December 20th: The party meet Katharta, get arrested, the second night of the Thing begins. Content Not Found: Elowen_ meets Glodurin, Everyone meets the new Arghurosh. _Content Not Found: Arena averts a war and meets Hesha’s new Shaman after Hrafn meets Katharta.
  • December 21st: The last night of the Thing
  • December 23rd: Yule begins, lasts through until January 6th.
  • January 7th: The party boards the Hawk of Ages, ignores nobles, meets a Chronicler, and docks in Rauer, a hive of scum and villainy. Content Not Found: Elowen_ and Content Not Found: Arena_ negotiate a trade deal, Content Not Found: Kafu makes a friend.
  • January 8th: The Hawk continues its voyage with the addition of adventurers various, encounters the Sirens of Tvedestrand (and Arena’s Folly) and overnights in Quadraturen. Content Not Found: Elowen enjoys some much needed recreation time.
  • January 9th: The Hawk leaves Norga for Dalriada, and 8 hours in meets The Sea Horse. As night falls the drowned crew attempt a ghostly mutiny. Under the direction of the party the helmsman makes for the Fool’s Teeth in order to drop anchor.
  • January 10th: Morning reveals that The Sea Horse has vanished, only to be replaced by Grindylow. They demand a sacrifice of gold and flesh. Content Not Found: Kafu_ is happy to oblige but angers a leviathan in the process. _Content Not Found: Elowen enforces recreation time on the oversized squid and Arena’s Folly is put to good use. The Hawk runs for shore, only to undergo a proper mutiny.
  • January 11th: The party reach dry land after over 70 hours at sea. They enjoy a tepid welcome in Eyemouth’s Slaughtered Lamb. Content Not Found: Elowen_ introduces herself properly to the suspicious James Chance, while _Content Not Found: Arena attempts a different angle to the Noble Game.
  • January 12th: Having set out for Doon Eidyan the previous day, the travelers are beset by wolves on the road. Regardless, they make it to the Floating Mountain just after night fall, deliver a message to Uptown and explore the Night Market before bedtime.
  • January 13th: Lady Rebekah is safely delivered to her home in Digby. Both Content Not Found: Kafu_ and Content Not Found: Arena_ are introduced to The Beloved, Lord Arkale Hythe, and Sir Kenneth Iggit. Content Not Found: Kafu further pursues a professional relationship with Vorzhe of the Beloved. Content Not Found: Elowen speaks to Loamdaw of certain delicate issues and spends quality time in the market.
  • January 14th: Having made the acquaintance of a dubious horse merchant, Content Not Found: Elowen_ also meets Glosen, and sets out for Everdown, only to be pursued by Imano. Under the guidance of Vorzhe, Content Not Found: Kafu_ is employed by Kmyre, an Aberrant, whereupon he meets Nysander. Meanwhile, Content Not Found: Arena (now under the protection of Iggit), has the dubious honour of a conversation with both Barlo, his magical sword (Lori) and his not-so-magical barrel (Carla).

  • January 15th
    • Kafu Joins The Beloved, enrolling in several interesting classes.
    • Elowen leaves for Everdown early in the morning.
    • Arena leaves for Ayr later that day
  • January 16th
    • On January 16th, no-one died.
    • While traveling through Dalriada, Elowen’s party discovers a small construction crew, headed by a pair of Gnomes. They appear to be building a ring of standing stones. At the end of the day, Stonehaven welcomes weary travelers.

  • January 17th
    • Classes are attended. Kafu discovers some strange business conducted by Tarn. Vorzhe follows a similar lead, and bumps into some foreign dignitaries while shopping.
    • Weary travellers flee Stonehaven, and make for Everdown with the Oaken Crown.
    • Arena’s party arrives in Glascha, encounters a single Lutetian priest, and moves on. Iggit makes a friend.
  • January 18th
    • A quiet day as Nysander and Vorzhe hit the library, Kafu follows up on Tarn’s business dealings. Nysander meets the chancellor, and his familiar.
    • By evening, Elowen reaches Everdown, meets with Yalda of the Fraene, and discovers a problem amongst the Itani. Niven’s knowledge of the northern tribes is expanded through a set of ancient monoliths.
    • Arena rides south.
  • January 19th
    • Kafu meets Meera, attempts to squeeze her for information, and sends Nysander after her to finish the job. Meera is resistant to both Nysander’s charm and touch.
    • Elowen meets a miserable shaman, Glosen attempts to fight a young ogre, and a dubious child is discovered. Niven immediately takes on an almost parental role. During these events new tales are given to the Itani, and valuable lessons are learned about trade.
    • In the early hours of the 17th, Arena meets two diminutive travellers. One of whom claims to be the son of Barlo. Later that day they encounter Baron Bantari and are invited back to his holdings. By the time midnight rolls around the party are insulting his guards, ruining his topiary, and generally causing mayhem.
  • January 20th
    • Kafu and Nysander break into the rooms of Meera, discovering some strange magics in the process.
    • The Child tracks its mistress to a small Itani village that appears to be losing locals at a disturbing rate. Their palid assailants vanish like ghosts into the night.
    • Bantari is troubled by monsters and works off the stress by hunting with Iggit in the morning
  • January 21st
    • Leaving Meera alone for a moment, Kafu, Nysander, and Vorzhe have dinner with Jessop, a Marker who had recently attempted to visit Tarn. In the process they meet Lady Abernath Avery properly for the first time. She shows various strange forms of behaviour. Vorzhe is called away by a servant, and on exiting Jessop’s house, makes his way directly to the rear of Tarn’s estate, accompanied by Kafu and Nysander. A small scuffle ensues, and Kafu finally meets Cairns. After that, an equally small disagreement erupts concerning barrels. It finds an amicable solution and the mages retire for the evening. Kafu reports a civil disturbance, and is nearly imprisoned for his trouble.
    • The Cauldron is rescued from a disturbing ritual in the woods behind the village, She is returned, at speed, to the nearest safe Itani settlement.
    • Arena and her company ride south
  • January 22nd
    • While Dalriada appears to be asleep, Kafu, Nysander, and Vorzhe break into Tarn’s laboratories. After exploring and navigating a few traps, they discover a ring gate, an underground labyrinth, some fascinating golems, a mysterious stone door, and a starving family, wrapping up their subterranean escapade at Abernath’s house. By the end of the evening Lady Avery has issued warrants for the Party’s arrest.
    • Elowen is subjected to an unusual midnight ritual of her own, and the party depart for the western mountains with a pair of trolls.
    • A gnome is emancipated from a group of Castan and Itani workers. The same cannot be said for his ‘spellbook’. Shortly afterwards, a ring gate is used, and a search party is murdered in the woods.
  • January 23rd
    • The next day, the group of mages lose all patience and decide, finally, to take the fight to Tarn. They assassinate Jessop on the way and steal his stuff. Having breached the protective cordon set up around the infected part of Doon Eidyan, and entered the Golemists house, they meet a number of Tarn’s creations, including his Monster. Before things get horribly out of hand, Cairns’ continued survival is implied, and Tarn’s link to Urizen is confirmed. Kafu Immediately returns to Kmyre, and escapes the authorities through the portal that exists under Doon Eidyan.
    • In the morning Niven returns from hunting only to attack Glosen and Elowen. During the scuffle his form and magic acquires a horrific sheen. After Niven’s death, the party discover the gates of Fathuaigh, a pair of Ring Gates, and the prone form of Kafu Ostra. On entering the city it becomes clear that they are not alone, and that the inhabitants are not friendly.
    • In the early hours Arena and her compatriots invade Castan holdings in Calamber, meet some friendly Itani and some less friendly Castans, and utilise a ring gate much further south, only to also discover Fathuaigh, and to enter it.
    • The party discover a skeletal army on the march and evidence that the City of Hate may have been victim to an immense battle, several hundred years in the past. They decide to quickly strike camp before going any further.
  • January 24th: On their first full day in Fathuaigh the adventurers pick their way across a no-man’s land of complete ruin, discovering, and being attacked by the broken traces of elemental and natural magic. In the evening they run into a pack of hunting spiders who do not react well to fire.
  • January 25th: On day three in Fathuaigh the party are introduced to the quietly malignant storm that hovers above the city, a ruined church that divides the party once again, Etrusca the Guardian, and the first real line of defence. They camp in the ancient shell of what may once have been an inn, before crossing into the city proper.
  • January 26th: with the route forward blocked, the adventurers delve beneath the city, into its industrial foundations. They inadvertently start a gargantuan, floodgate-powered, mechanism and upon exiting the subterranean levels, find themselves in the bone garden. Once navigated, they agree to rest in an enormous building which must once have been a grand library. Certain strange rooms and artefacts become evident in its wings.
  • January 27th: The party progress further up the mountain, through a district that seems as if it might once have been noble, at the top of the mountain they finally meet Your Time Is Done, attack Urizen, see Ygraine fully restored, and experience an explosion of unrestrained magical energy that takes each of them to largely undiscovered countries.
  • January 28th: the party regain consciousness, search the wreckage, meet Your Time in a more useful fashion, and descend to the lower slopes of Fathuaigh, without Elowen, who is missing. Imano Gallan is waiting for them. In the middle of the night, Ekring disappears, but all is well come the morning.
  • February 3rd: Kafu, Arena, Barlo, Ekring, and Imano catch up to the Cauldron, who has met Elowen recently. She reacts with shock to the restoration of the head that she gifted to the party some days ago, and escorts Ygraine and its compatriots to Everdown.
  • February 10th: In Everdown the party hear strange tales of The Girl By The Fire, and come to understand that the Itani are organising a southbound exodus from some of their ancestral lands, now choked with the dead.
  • February 14th: barely noticing the sealed doors of Stonehaven, the party return to Doon Eidyan, leave Ygraine to deal with its descendants, meet Vorzhe again, and hole up in Barlo’s surprisingly large estate.
  • February 15th: is spent taking in the city and the various shopping districts of The Floating Mountain. Arena visits a displaced magical college, Kafu leads an expedition into the other concern in town, and Elowen makes a surprising amount of money before a quiet evening in while the rest of the group attend an interesting wedding in the park. Having recognised a familiar dwarven face at the wedding, the party foil a suicide attempt, only to then argue about the child’s continued survival.
  • February 16th: They eventually deliver the child to the Itani north of Doon Eidyan, along with a small tortoise shell artefact, Talia reappears before shopping, scheming, and trading.
  • February 18th: Arena visits the Majority court to discover Hythe’s dastardly benevolent plan, and Okram goes in search of a dragon.
  • February 19th: A plot is unhatched to set the Doon Eidyan Players against each other, resulting in the final and flaming death of Cairns.
  • February 20th: Arena visiting the Beloved college in order to discuss politics with a ghost, while Kafu and Elowen explore the desolate noble quarter. They manage not to fight Abernath. In the afternoon the party visits Vorzhe to gain entry to the royal castle, a book is seen.
  • February 21st: To kill a king, the queen disappears, while the rest of the party (barely) escapes with their lives and hides out in the port, Elowen explores the castle, and discovers some unusual tenants.
  • February 22nd: Raiding Abernath’s house, an assault on Vorzhe, Lori refuses entry, last minute shopping, apprehended by the Queen’s Guards at the Broken Pony
  • February 23rd: One last trip through the undercity of Doon Eidyan, Carriage ride to Hythe’s estate, abortive attack on his house, the party retreat and rest for a solid day and a half
  • February 24th: At nightfall the party orchestrate a much more stealthy and also more dramatic attack on Hythe’s estate, slowly discovering that a large number of their enemies have congregated in one place, a short campaign of supernatural terror unfolds, and then is left to ferment until Midnight.
  • February 25th: Full scale attack on Hythe and his assembly
  • February 26th: Rest in Hythe’s hunting grounds.
  • February 27th: Hethering and Rebekah take power, while the PCs visit the Itani encampment
  • February 28th: Everyone takes time to enjoy the Itani festivities, Elowen resumes her role as a storyteller, Arena goes to see Ygraine and acquires a companion.
  • March 7th: The party leaves the Itani settlements
  • March 16th: Arena leads everyone back to the Calamber mining operation, two suspicious figures are discovered.
  • March 20th: The party crosses the Lloegren/Dalriadan border and discovers an ancient hospital before burying it in it own rubble for all time.
  • March 23rd: A short stop off outside of the main city gives the party a local perspective on Castans
  • March 24th: Everyone arrives in Casta, then beds down in the Halfway Home.
  • March 25th: city exploration
  • March 26th: Elowen starts planning a heist on the Grand Museum and visits Stewart’s Caravan, Arena meets Alaric Stone, Kafu starts talking to the Sideways Magi.
  • March 27th: An attempt is made to apprehend Springheel Jack, Kafu acquires his mask, Arena and Okram meet the Mex.
